Format primer
The Original Riftbound Cube
A 434-card singleton cube with random legends, a battlefield mini-draft, and packs that are supposed to be all heat.
A cube that refuses pack filler
The Original Riftbound Cube is a 434-card, fully singleton, high-power list. Every color has 55 cards. There are 27 signature spells. Banned Constructed cards are in the cube as one-ofs: Draven, Fight or Flight, Called Shot, and the rest of that pile. In a sea of power they are not the whole draft — they are a pack that someone at the table actually gets to open.
The design question is simple: what if every booster was all heat? Four sets of iteration later, this is the public list we maintain. We do not know of another published Riftbound cube. Browse it, draft it, or take the files and run it yourself from the cube page.
How a seat works
Before packs, each player is dealt three random legends and builds around one. Battlefields are their own mini-draft, so the table is not fighting over the same two plots all night. Then eight players — or up to twelve — crack singleton packs. A single booster can hold five epics and a Time Warp. There are no duplicates to play around. If you drafted it, you are the only one who has it.
That last point is the format. Constructed 2v2 is about known pairs and a shared gameplan. Cube is about opening a pile nobody else has and making a deck anyway.
Watch it, then run it
The cube draft video walks the table: Riftbound Cube Draft: The Format You Can Play Forever. The list lives at riftbound-cube-2026-08-15. TXT and PDF downloads are on the cube index if you are running paper.
Limited practice tools on this site are paused while we rebuild them. The cube list and this draft ruleset are the live limited offering right now.
